A Level Electronics

What does the course involve?

Electronics is an exciting practical subject which provides a great basis for you to progress into further education, or to enter employment or an apprenticeship. The course reflects up-to-date practice and is designed to emphasise skills and processes.

You have the opportunity to develop your interest and enthusiasm with a very hands-on approach to learning about electronic circuits, where you will design and build with proto boards and software in nearly all lessons.

Students will learn to design and construct a digital / analogue / microcontroller system to solve an identified problem, need or opportunity.

A textbook will be provided along with opportunities to practise past papers in class. All lesson resources are available on the colleges virtual learning environment (VLE).

Coursework elements are integral to this specification throughout the course. Examples from past years include, an electronic sound sensing dice, a guitar tuning device and a radio linked weather station.
