2019 Student Success
New Principal Jenny Milsom was delighted by the efforts of students and staff.
Mrs Milsom, said, "Our overall pass rate was 99% and results in STEM subjects like Biology, Electronics, Further Maths and Maths were incredible. Successes in English and facilitating subjects were equally impressive.
"I would like to congratulate all students and staff on another great year for the college."
The results are as follows:

521 students sat exams.
The overall results were as follows:
A* - C 75%
A* - E 99%
Vocational courses at Level 3
281 students (applied general) and 88 students (technical level).

Quotes and success stories
Manningtree man, Johnny Piper, gained great A Level results last year. The 19 year old decided to take a gap year to boost his experiences and CV with the aim of getting in to Cambridge University.
During his gap year, Mr Piper was taken on by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) and became the youngest intern they have ever employed. He also claimed to be the only intern they have taken on from a state school background.
Mr Piper was advised to take an extra AS level in Maths at One Sixth Form College to help his Cambridge application which he passed with flying colours.
This helped him secure his place at Gonville and Caius College (in Cambridge). He said, "The people at One have been absolutely amazing. It was definitely the making of me."
In terms of Cambridge, the Ipswich Town fan, said, "I'm off to study land economy.
"I'm looking forward to having one on one tutorials with authoritative world figures in their field and being surrounded by like-minded aspirational people who will push me on."
18 year old Abi Sellen from Hadleigh, took A-levels in Biology, Chemistry and Maths gaining an A* and two A's. She is shortly off to vet school at Surrey University. She said, "It's been a great place to learn and the support has been excellent – I recommend One to others - including my little brother who is starting here shortly."
Lauren Pettman collected her results with her dog Felix. She got the grades she wanted and is off to study Marine Biology at Essex University. On her time at One, she said, "I almost wish I failed my second year so I could stay here a little longer."
18 year old Ella Ward, from Ipswich, said, "I did a lot better than I thought I would and I'm now off to study Geography in Birmingham – the highlight of studying at One has been everything."
Jasmine Hobson is considering a career in the Royal Navy or a place at university after gaining two B's and a C. She said, "The support and general atmosphere at One helps make the whole the experience better."
Another success story saw student Rosie Gault gain three A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. Rosie will now be off to study medicine at Exeter as she pursues her lifelong ambition of becoming a doctor.
